Ambitious Tulips boss Pat Rayment is trying to tempt highly-rated goal machine Ryan Robbins to the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field.

A seven day notice of approach has gone in for the Coalville striker, who is the leading scorer in Evo-Stik League Division One South.

Spalding have also made a similar approach for Sleaford Town hitman Ryan Oliver, with Rayment looking to send teenage forward Jacob Joyce out on loan.

Rayment said: “Both lads have lots of ability and I think they’d bring something different to our squad.

“We can’t afford to get complacent and have to keep moving forward if we want to win the league.”

Spalding are also looking at Eastwood Town’s TJ Nightingale and Stamford keeper Rob Murray. Approaches went in for those two on Wednesday.

The Tulips host UCL Premier Division basement boys Irchester United on Saturday (3pm), with skipper Lee Canoville fit again. The last time the duo met, Spalding ran out 11-1 winners.
