Tom Roberts says it is time for his Holbeach United squad to face a ‘different challenge’.
Second-half goals from Stuart Eason and Josh Ford saw the Tigers beat Netherton 2-1 on Tuesday, with the side yet to taste defeat in pre-season.
But now Roberts’ side face two tough challenges in their final two warm-up games at Carter’s Park.
Saturday’s arrival of Stamford will be followed by Tuesday’s home match against fellow Evo Stik Division One South outfit Spalding United, and the manager is expecting tougher tests.
“We’ve got two different challenges coming up,” Roberts said.
“Stamford have had a good pre-season, Graham (Drury) has got them flying and Spalding will always be a derby match, whether it’s pre-season or not.”
Stamford appear to have lost burly target man Greg Smith to Boston United, while veteran keeper Paul Bastock may be out of action with a shoulder injury.
Kick off at Carter’s Park will be at 3pm.
