HOLBEACH UNITED 3 LOUTH TOWN 1: ADDIE Staffieri notched his first Tigers goal in this friendly win on Tuesday night – but he has yet to commit to the club.

The sought-after striker scored in the second half at Carter’s Park, with Paul Goodhand and Andrew Tidswell also on target.

Holbeach boss John Chand expects Staffieri to play for UCL Premier Division rivals Peterborough Northern Star on Saturday – but still hopes to sign him.

Chand said: “We need a goalscorer and Addie is our number one target. He’s trained with us all summer, but has said he’ll play for PNS at the weekend.

“I’m fine with that, but he needs to know that we can’t wait for him forever.

“We do have other options, but he’s our priority.”

Meanwhile, Jamie Stevens has sealed his switch to the Tigers. The ex-Boston United defender played the first 45 minutes on Tuesday.

But Wisbech Town have pulled out of tomorrow’s (Saturday) scheduled friendly, leaving the Tigers short of a game.

Anybody interested in hosting Holbeach can email their contact details to andrew.clucas@jpress.co.uk and we’ll pass them on to the club.

Chand added: “We’ve won both of our pre-season games so far but it’s not about results at this stage, we just need game time.”
