INTERNET speculation has forced Holbeach United boss John Chand to reaffirm his commitment to the club.
Chand told the Lincolnshire Free Press that he’s received roughly 40 calls after rumours of a shock switch to Boston Town surfaced on a number of social networking sites.
Although the Tigers supremo is flattered to be linked with his home town team, Chand assured fans he has absolutely no intention of walking out on Holbeach.
He said: “It’s all very strange, lots of people have been ringing me – I must have had around 40 calls.
“A number of them were from people that are well-respected in the game. I just don’t know where the rumour came from.
“I can confirm that I’m 100 per cent staying with Holbeach. We are nearly halfway into a three-year plan here and I really want to see it through.
“The club took a chance on me at the start of last season and I owe them a lot. Obviously it is flattering to be linked with Boston, they’re a great club in my home town.”
Chand was among the front-runners for the Poachers job before it was given to current boss Martyn Lakin in the summer of 2010.
