TIGERS: Holbeach must keep the pressure on Saints

Holbeach United boss John Chand has urged his side to keep the pressure on runaway UCL Premier Division leaders St Ives Town by going on another winning run.

The Tigers are looking to bounce back from Wednesday night’s 1-0 loss at Blackstones by taking maximum points from winnable home dates with Harborough Town (Saturday, 3pm) and Wellingborough Town (November 10).

St Ives are ten points clear of the Tigers are 17 games unbeaten. But Holbeach have played two games less and did reel off nine wins on the spin at the start of the campaign.

Chand said: “These are are games we should win, but we’re fully aware it’s never that easy. You have to respect Harborough’s 2-0 win at Boston Town last Saturday. But we can’t afford to let St Ives get too far ahead and have to keep the pressure on them.”

Andrew Tidswell misses Saturday’s game, while Jonny Allen (ankle) is a doubt.

• Holbeach are holding an EGM at Tigers Social Club on Saturday, 6.45pm start.
