Holbeach United have reached an agreement to sign Andy Toyne from rivals Spalding United.
The midfielder will spend a third month on loan with the Tigers, who must then pay a set transfer fee – believed to be around £750 – to complete the switch before it expires.
With neither club well-schooled on this kind of deal, the loan extension will allow the South Holland rivals plenty of time to sort out the paperwork.
Toyne was expected to feature against Sleaford Town last night and will be in the squad for Saturday’s home date with bogey side Kempston Rovers (3pm).
Midfielder Rob Hughes misses the Kempston clash, while Michael Emery is expected to be in goal.
Meanwhile, Tigers boss John Chand has yet to speak to Deeping Rangers striker Matt Heron after making a seven day approach. He isn’t hopeful of sealing a deal.
