TIGERS: Fringe players ‘will be crucial’

Fringe first-team players could be key to Holbeach United’s success this season.

Boss John Chand insists that the players sitting patiently on the bench could be crucial in the coming months as pitches get heavier and take their toll.

He said: “Players like Matt Warfield are a perfect example.

“His attitude has been outstanding and he’s been vital in games, coming on and helping to close them out.

“His help is going to be massive for us in the coming months.

“I would say without the two or three players we’ve had on the bench regularly we would be four or five places worse off – that’s how important they are.

“I know and they know that they could walk into the majority of starting line-ups in the division so it’s great they are not walking away from the club.”

The Tigers are scheduled to travel to struggling Harborough Town on Saturday, but the forecast is not good.
