Runaway league leaders Holbeach United will be taking nothing for granted in Saturday’s derby with Deeping Rangers (3pm).
The Tigers go into the Carter’s Park clash a massive 16 points clear at the top of the UCL Premier Division and are 27 points better off than fifth-placed Rangers.
John Chand’s side have won 17 of their last 19 games in all competitions and have defeated Deeping three times already this season.
But the Tigers chief is demanding a reaction after dropping points at S & L Corby last time out (see report on back page).
Chand said: “After the disappointment of midweek, this is exactly the kind of game I’d have picked for Saturday. We need to put the S & L game behind us and show some mettle.
“Deeping are a top side and can beat anyone in this league on any day, that’s a fact. We’ll need to play much better than we have been.”
Holbeach may hand a recall to midfielder Derwayne Stupple, with Wes Lewis (unavailable) and Rob Hughes (foot) unlikely to feature.
Leading scorer Andrew Tidswell and key winger Craig Parker return after missing Tuesday’s 1-1 draw.
