After seeing last weekend’s game at Towcestrians called off at the 11th hour, Spalding RFC will try again on Saturday (3pm).
Town skipper Harry Sharman felt the waterlogged pitch was too dangerous for play last Saturday, despite the home sides’ futile attempts to get the game on.
And it could prove to be a blessing in disguise for Spalding, who welcome back key quartet Andy Hoyles, Dave Hankinson, Rhys Thomson and Callum Thomson to the squad.
With just five games left to play, Town coach Niall Thomson admits that a result would do wonders for his sides’ survival hopes.
He said: “Whatever they thought, the conditions were dangerous last weekend. Ironically, we now go there with a stronger squad. We’ve got three big games against relegation rivals to come, so getting a result would really boost our confidence.”
