NORTHAMPTON SPENCER 1 (Pickering 30) DEEPING RANGERS 3 (Stevens 20, Moreman 67, Brader 71): RAMPANT Rangers are closing on a fourth-placed finish in the UCL Premier Division after extending their unbeaten run to 16 games on Saturday.

Tuncay Korkmaz’s side started well and deservedly opened the scoring when Ash Stevens buried a Matt Heron pass.

Paul Pickering bundled home a leveller for the home side before the break, which was somewhat against the run of play.

However, a quickfire second-half double secured all three points for Rangers in their final away game of the season.

Josh Moreman’s 36th of the season – a clinical cross shot – restored their advantage 23 minutes from time, before a solo effort from Kevin Brader sealed the points.

Holbeach United are the only team that can deny Rangers fourth. They will need to beat Daventry United on Thursday and Deeping on the final day of the season (Saturday) to leapfrog Korkmaz’s men.

Rangers: Doughty, Gilbert, Jackson, Logan, Julian, Weston, Holt, Burton-Jones, Stevens (Beck), Heron (Brader), Moreman.

Sat: Rangers v Holbeach (3pm).
