RANGERS: Surprise loss at Sleaford

Sleaford Town 4 Deeping Rangers 2: LOWLY Sleaford stunned Rangers on Tuesday to register their first win in three months.

First-half goals from Jamie Shaw (8) and ex-Deeping man Ben Brown (25) gave Town a two goal interval lead at Eslaforde Park.

It got worse for Tuncay Korkmaz’s side on 61 minutes when Jamie McCormack, who started the campaign with Rangers, bagged a decisive third goal.

Kev Gilbert’s first Deeping strike (77) provided his side with a glimmer of hope, but Shaw’s second of the evening two minutes later ended the game as a contest.

There was still time for Liam Harrold to register a consolation five minutes from time, but Rangers slipped to a 14th UCL Premier Division defeat of the campaign at a venue they’d expect to win at.

Korkmaz’s men stay 14th in the standings, with a top ten finish now looking unlikely.
