Spalding United kick off their pre-season in earnest this evening when they entertain Conference North neighbours Boston United at the Sir Halley Stewart Field.

The Tulips, whose only other pre-season outing was a 2-0 win over Crowland, kick off at 7.45pm.

Lee Cannoville will miss the match as he is on honeymoon, while Miles Chamberlain and Jamie Stevens are also doubtful with knee and hamstring tweaks respectively.

“We have been working hard in training and Boston will be a good test for us,” manager Pat Rayment told the Guardian.

Spalding entertain Wyberton on Saturday (2pm) and then visit Coalville on Tuesday.

Holbeach United played a friendly at Parson Drove last night (result not know as we went to press) and are at Ely City on Saturday.
