Holbeach United joint-boss Graham Drury is backing new signing Jamie Clarke to make “a big difference”.
Clarke scored twice on his Tigers debut after signing last week from Quorn while Ash Fuller fired a hat-trick during Saturday’s 5-0 win at Wellingborough Town.
Drury said: “It was a great debut for Jamie.
“He gave us link-up play which was important with two strikers. In the last few weeks we haven’t really had someone to play off.
“We know Lee Beeson can put balls across the box and it just needed someone to put one away.
“When Jamie scored our second goal, it was game over from there.
“The young lads like Lee Dube and Courtney Meade need to learn from Jamie who can bring the best out of them.
“He will have that extra responsibility to coach the youngsters. He will demand respect and really make a big difference.
“Away from home we are always demanding a clean sheet at half-time to settle into the game.
“That gives us a building block and we know we have got the firepower to score goals.
“It was a good performance and the lads deserve a lot of credit.”
Holbeach are back home against Harrowby United tomorrow.
