Manager Tom Roberts is looking to get Holbeach United’s title challenge back on track at Carter’s Park on Saturday.

The Tigers take on Premier Division leaders Leicester Nirvana with a 10-point gap between the teams before kick-off.

Holbeach have two games in hand but they dropped to fifth place in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League following a shock 1-0 home defeat to Yaxley on Bank Holiday Monday.

Roberts said: “We need a big game now and they don’t get any bigger than this.

“We need to win the game to get ourselves back on track after Monday’s game.

“AFC Kempston Rovers, Newport Pagnell Town and Deeping Rangers have gone above us so we need to close the gap on the top four.”

Top scorer Josh Ford – who served a one-match ban on Monday – is now unavailable for a month.

Captain Jamie Stevens is battling to overcome a rib injury.

He faces a fitness check along with Jake Clitheroe who suffered ankle and knee damage during the 4-0 home win over Sileby Rangers.

Holbeach have boosted the squad by bringing in winger Aaron Eyett from Boston Town.

Roberts added: “He made a very positive debut for us on Monday and the fans seemed to take to him.

“He’s a talented footballer who can spark games with a little bit of magic. He’s similar to Jordan Thomas.”
