Pat Rayment remains full of confidence that his new-look Spalding United squad can soon find their rhythm.
The Tulips will take on Moulton Harrox tonight at the Sir Halley Stewart Field and they head to Horncastle on Saturday before the Evo-Stik League First Division South season kicks off.
Spalding boss Rayment said: “Hopefully we will get another good work-out to keep ticking over.
“I know we’ve got some good players at the club so I’m confident they will come out of the blocks when it really matters.
“The league games will be coming thick and fast over the next few weeks.
“Playing will be better than training in terms of fitness and picking up the rhythm.
“The players should be feeling good about the new season.”
Rayment admits that the absence of prolific striker Andrew Tidswell for the first two games is a “big blow”.
However, he added: “We’ve got plenty of options up front with three players –Jordan Thomas, Mark Jones and Tom Waumsley – going for two places along with Ash Burbeary who can also move inside from the wing.”
