Spalding United are back in the play-off places after a 6-1 demolition of rock-bottom Brigg Town.
The Tulips climbed into fifth spot in the Evo-Stik League First Division South - but manager Pat Rayment wasn’t happy with the performance.
He said: “I told the players that we didn’t want the second half to turn into a practice game and they let me down.
“We should have used tonight as a platform to get back into form. It was an opportunity to score double figures.”
Spalding went ahead after 14 minutes when Jamie Thurlbourne’s corner found new signing Gregg Smith at the far post and Jamie Stevens converted the loose ball.
Smith bundled in the second goal soon afterwards and Spalding were 3-0 up when the striker smashed a shot over the line - according to the assistant referee - via the underside of the crossbar.
Jordan Nuttell set up Jack McGovern to make it 4-0 on 32 minutes.
However, the second-half display was below par and Smith wasted a great chance for his hat-trick.
Brigg had a goal disallowed for offside and McGovern added to the home team’s misery with another close-range finish.
Right-back Luke Thurlbourne found the bottom corner of the net from 25 yards to put Spalding 6-0 in front.
Lee Clay pulled one back by slotting home after keeper Sam Donkin parried the initial attempt.
Meanwhile, Deeping Rangers lost 2-1 at Wisbech Town in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League’s Premier Division.
The Fenmen established a two-goal first-half advantage and Spencer Tinkler got a last-minute consolation.
