Manager Pat Rayment described Spalding United’s display as “totally inept” after they crashed out of the FA Trophy.
They lost 2-1 to Leek Town in the first qualifying round replay at the Sir Halley Stewart Field - despite taking an early lead.
The Tulips had battled back from a 2-0 first-half deficit on Saturday to earn another chance.
And they made a dream start when Chris Hall’s 25-yard drive found the top corner of the net after only 10 minutes.
Just six minutes later, though, Tim Grice’s 50th goal for Leek levelled the tie again.
The Staffordshire side secured £2,700 prize money plus a trip to Spennymooor Town in the next round when Matt Bell slotted home on 70 minutes.
Meanwhile, Bourne Town claimed a 4-3 home win over Raunds Town in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League’s Division One.
The Wakes went 4-0 up through Aaron Jesson, Harley Williams and Henry Dunn’s double before conceding three times in the final five minutes.
