Assistant-boss Tom Roberts says the new-look Holbeach United squad is ‘still a work in progress’.

The Tigers continued the pre-season programme with a 2-0 victory over Bourne Town at Carter’s Park on Tuesday night.

Roberts said: “It’s coming together slowly but surely.

“We are still a work in progress but the lads are getting to know each other’s game even better now.

“We are building up quite well for that first league game of the season on August 8.

“Myself and Darren Jarvis are very pleased with the way things are going so far.

“A lot of positives have come out of the training sessions and games.

“We are happy with the way it’s developing.

“We put Spalding United and Lincoln United into the schedule to test ourselves in harder games to see how far we have come as a squad over pre-season. I would expect the squad to stay very much as it is.”

Lee Beeson has signed dual registration at Holbeach but is set to spend the season with Grantham Town.
