Holbeach United will look to get at Gorleston from the start in their FA Vase first-round clash at Carter’s Park on Saturday.

The Tigers would love to go far in the Vase and a home draw against Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League Premier Division opposition should be another test.

Gorleston, third in the table, lost 2-1 at lowly Ely City on Saturday but bounced back with a 5-0 victory at Walsham le Willows on Tuesday night.

Joint-managers Graham Drury and John Chand had planned to attend that game but work commitments got in the way.

Drury, who welcomes back skipper Jamie Stevens following suspension, said: “They are a good side but we will look to get at them right from the start.

“Hopefully they will be a bit tentative and we can take advantage.”

Aaron Preston is cup-tied but Jake Gibson will hopefully be fully fit.
