HOLBEACH United have snapped up highly-rated full back Daniel Flack as they brace themselves for the toughest month of their season so far.
The Biggleswade Town right back is set to link up with the Tigers in two weeks, after agreeing terms with boss John Chand.
Flack will remain with the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central outfit on a dual deal until they can secure a replacement, but has already signed forms with Holbeach.
“He’s a proper footballer,” said Chand, whose side face derbies with Spalding United, Deeping Rangers and Boston Town next month. “We’ve got a massive November ahead and it’s important we’re ready.Dan’s a player I really like and he’s coming from a higher level.”
The Tigers’ newest addition was at Lincoln Road for Wednesday night’s 2-1 derby win at Blackstones, but won’t be used before leaving Biggleswade.
Next up for Holbeach is a trip to unpredictable Thrapston Town on Saturday (3pm).
The Chancery Lane outfit smashed Spalding 4-0 earlier this month, but were hammered 6-0 at Newport Pagnell on Tuesday night.
Chand added: “I’ve heard mixed reviews from people, but we’ll certainly not be underestimating them.
“It’s important we show a lot of passion and get a result.”
Midfielder Wes Lewis should return after missing the trip to Stones, while Paul Goodhand (Achilles) could also come into the squad.
Meanwhile, the Tigers have reported UCL Premier Division rivals Boston Town to the Lincs FA after an alleged illegal approach for striker Tommy Treacher.
Chand told the Spalding Guardian that Treacher is a player he “values highly” and that he reported the Poachers on October 16 – the day after Holbeach beat Boston 3-2 at Carter’s Park.
But he refused to comment further on the incident, as it is an ongoing Lincs FA matter.
