Holbeach United 5 Harrowby United 1

Another five-star display by Holbeach United showed strength in depth, firepower and quality.

The front two got an early goal each, all three substitutes played key roles and star man Jake Duffy fittingly finished off the Tigers’ tally.

Scoring five goals for the second successive game took them back to the top of the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League’s Premier Division table.

It only took 96 seconds to open the account - thanks to a goalkeeping gaffe.

Ash Fuller played a pass behind Harrowby United’s back four and Aiden Hotchin slid out, only for the ball to slip out of his grasp and gift an open goal for Jamie Clarke on his home debut.

The advantage was doubled on 12 minutes as Tommy Treacher held off Jack Whyley and fired inside the near post.

Substitute Lee Dube produced a low finish midway through the second half with the assist coming from Danny Spencer’s first touch.

Three minutes later Dube headed home Gary King’s cross and, despite taking the ball past Hotchin for a hat-trick opportunity, he unselfishly squared to Duffy for a tap-in.

Almost immediately Harrowby captain Sam Hill nodded in what can hardly be classed as even any consolation.
