Holbeach Town boss Glen Maddison hopes his players turn up at Carter’s Park with their shooting boots on when Desborough Town visit on Saturday.

A failure to convert chances was the difference between the Tigers getting their first win in six matches at Sileby Rangers and the 1-1 draw the ended up with last weekend.

The good news for Maddison is that both striker Tommy Treacher and defender Matty Warfield are back in the squad to face Ar Tarn on Saturday, with both of them having missed the Sileby trip last Saturday.

Maddison said: “Matty and Tom are both big players but I wouldn’t say that we missed them on Saturday because we played well without them.

“We had enough chances to have finished the game, so I was a bit disappointed on that side of things.”

Tom Waumsley scored for the Tigers at Sileby, his first goal since December, and Maddison will want him to hit the target again when he faces a Desborough side which could prove a tricky test for Holbeach.

Maddison said: “They signed a couple of lads who are playing well so we’ll have to be aware of the problems they may cause us.”
