Spalding United are hopeful of keeping top scorer Josh Moreman.
The 16-goal forward has attracted transfer interest from King’s Lynn Town who put in a seven-day notice.
Hopefully we can keep him because he’s our leading scorer and he’s well liked by everybody at the club.Danny Hussey
But the Tulips’ assistant-manager Danny Hussey said: “He is enjoying it here so why would he want to move?
“Until the end of this season we will be fighting for a play-off position and King’s Lynn are mid-table.
“There would be more travelling involved as well so it makes sense to stay with us.
“Hopefully we can keep him because he’s our leading scorer and he’s well liked by everybody at the club.
“Unfortunately we could not keep Jake Newman who had promised to stay – until he was offered a financial deal at Stamford.”
Meanwhile, new signing Kieron Davies took just six minutes to mark his debut with the goal which ended Spalding’s losing run as they beat play-off rivals Romulus on Saturday.
Hussey added: “It was a relief to end that run and he finished off a fabulous move.
“We had enough chances and we need a striker to put them away. Kieron will also have to find his feet playing again at this level.”
