Spalding United face another tough test tonight away to Loughborough Dynamo.
The Leicestershire side are top of the Evo-Stik League First Division South table.
But Tulips manager Pat Rayment said: “There are probably half a dozen teams capable of winning the league – ourselves included – and up to a dozen will be going for the play-offs. It’s a very competitive division.”
Spalding are looking to bounce back from Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle Town.
Rayment added: “It was a smash and grab - they had two shots and won the game.
“They didn’t even appeal for a penalty before it was given and the lad who was ‘fouled’ had gone to take a corner kick!
“If the referee has given a penalty then he has got to send off Michael Leary as well because he was the last man.
“The referee was the only man in the ground who thought it was a penalty.
“We can’t do any more other than put the ball in the back of the net.
“It comes down to three factors - outstanding saves, bad finishing and being unlucky.
“It can’t carry on like that because we are playing well. We could have won all seven league games and we will get even better.”
The Tulips are running a coach to Norton United for Saturday’s FA Cup tie, leaving Sir Halley Stewart Field at 9.30am. A few seats are available at £10 by calling Audrey on 01775 712047.
