Progress for Deeping Rangers - but it could be even better!

Michael Goode is “reasonably pleased” with the progress made by Deeping Rangers so far this season.

But he feels frustrated by three draws at home which have seen them drop points.

We have two games coming up where our credentials are going to be tested.

A goalless stalemate with Harborough Town on Saturday was another tale of missed opportunities.

Deeping boss Goode said: “Coming off the back of an unbeaten run, confidence is pretty high and we started well.

“If we had taken one of our chances in the first 20 minutes then we would have gone on to win the game and made it more comfortable.

“We had more chances at the end but we seem to be more clinical against the top teams.

“I would have taken those 10 points against Cogenhoe, Yaxley, Desborough and Harborough if they had been offered to us.

“It’s pleasing that we are creating chances and we’ve had three clean sheets from those four games as well.

“We have made progress and we have games in hand to move up the table.

“So we are not too far away but we have to look back at those draws at home to Rothwell Corinthians, Harborough and Sileby. We could be a few points better off and right up there.

“I’m reasonably pleased at the moment and we have two games coming up where our credentials are going to be tested.

“On Saturday we will go to Kirby Muxloe and play our own game then see what happens.

“We have got goals in us and our style of play seems to be suited to games against teams like Kirby Muxloe and Holbeach United.

“But we can’t look too far ahead and we want to keep it tight at the back as well.”

Following Wednesday’s trip to Huntingdon Town and the weekend game at Kirby Muxloe, next Wednesday is the rearranged derby date with Holbeach at Carter’s Park.
