Kirton Town finally had something to cheer about following a dismal run of heavy defeats when they won 5-2 at Freiston in the Boston & District League Taylors Garages Premier Division.

Freiston went ahead but Declan Sands equalised before Dave Slaughter put Kirton ahead.

Freiston levelled but Chris Hilton popped up to make it 3-2 at half time. Two further goals from Sands gave Kirton a convincing win.

Town had played less than 24 hours earlier when winning the Kirton Cup with a 1-0 win over Pointon, Ashley Davis scoring.
