UCL Division One: Irchester United 0 Bourne Town 6
A stunning second-half display from Bourne Town saw them avenge a heavy defeat by Irchester United on the season’s opening day.
Harley Williams made the 47th-minute breakthrough.
Henry Dunn converted a penalty two minutes later to double the advantage.
Scott Spearink added Bourne’s third goal a minute before the hour.
Joe Bull came off the bench to score number four after 72 minutes.
Spearink scored his second goal seven minutes later with substitute Josh Hales having the last word six minutes from full-time.
Boss Rafa Mazzarella said: “It was a very good win on the worst pitch we’ve played on this season.
“It wasn’t going to be a pretty game but we coped better with the awful conditions.
“They had a player sent off but we didn’t take our first-half chances and we were getting frustrated.
“We knew we had to start taking them and in the end we ran out comfortable winners so I’m really happy.”
Bourne are back in action with a trip to league leaders Peterborough Sports on Saturday.
Bourne: Fagan, Hall, Wilson (Bull), Moss, Jesson, Elger, Sculthorpe, Dunn (Hales), Spearink, Williams, De Sousa (Warrener).
