SPALDING United finally registered a first win of the season as they beat previously unbeaten Wellingborough Town 1-0 on Saturday, while in the FA Cup Holbeach United drew 0-0 at Hucknall Town and Deeping Rangers upset Belper Town 2-1.

Josh Ford’s 70th-minute header from a Simon Mowbray cross was enough for the Tulips at the Dog and Duck, as they won at the fifth time of asking in the UCL Premier Division.

Meanwhile, the Tigers secured an impressive 0-0 draw at Evo-Stik League First Division South outfit Hucknall Town. The duo will clash again in an FA Cup replay at Carter’s Park on Wednesday (7.45pm).

In the same competition, goals from Matt Heron (10) and Matty Evans (78) struck to see off Belper, another Evo-Stik side, at Outgang Road.

There was also a win for Bourne Town in UCL Division One, as a brace from ex-Holbeach ace Jake Mason downed Wooton Blue Cross 2-0 at the Abbey Lawn.

Elsewhere, Dane Cole and Mark Lovelace struck as Pinchbeck United saw off Oakham United 2-0 in the Peterborough Premier Division.

It’s now four wins on the spin for Ian Dunn’s side, who are now second in the standings.

There wasn’t such good news for Crowland Town though, as they were crushed 5-0 at Leverington Sports. Deeping Rangers Reserves drew 1-1 at Oundle Town.
