What a night for Spalding United.

The Tulips smashed six goals past Evo-Stik League First Division South leaders Loughborough Dynamo to show why manager Pat Rayment insists they are one of this season’s title contenders.

Ash Burbeary opened the account on 15 minutes with Andrew Tidswell doubling the first-half advantage.

Mitch Griffiths (52 and 70), Ryan Oliver (53) and Tidswell’s 57th-minute penalty sealed the big away win.

Holbeach United - who play Harrowby United on Wednesday night - were knocked off the top of the United Counties League’s Premier Division as Yaxley beat Deeping Rangers 3-0.

Bourne Town lost by the same scoreline at home to Peterborough Sports in Division One with all the goals again coming before the break.
