The Tigers are fourth in the ChromaSports & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division ahead of Wednesday’s home match against leaders Peterborough Sports.
Jack Smith’s free-kick in stoppage-time rescued a 2-2 draw at the weekend. Josh Ford had cancelled out Ollie Pinner’s own-goal just before the break.
Roberts said today: “I work for National Grid which means I’m on call every fifth day.
“It was getting harder and at the moment I can’t commit to football.

“Then I missed a couple of matches so the club weren’t getting the commitment which they deserved.
“They have been left in a good position with a lot to play for during the second half of the season.
“This has been done with a heavy heart but I didn’t make the decision overnight - it has been building over two or three weeks.
“You never know what might happen but right now I have no plans to get back involved as a player or manager.
“I’d like to thank all the officials, players and sponsors at Holbeach for their support. It’s a wonderful club with so many good people.”
