BILLINGHAY ATHLETIC 1 PINCHBECK UNITED 3: PINCHBECK progressed to the last eight of the Lincs Junior Cup with a comfortable Saturday success.

A first-half screamer from Ollie Maltby and Andy Law’s strike made it 2-0 to United at the break, before a 35-yard Billinghay piledriver set up a tense finale.

The away side kept their cool though, with Kevin Wilson heading a deserved third to set up a tricky looking trip to Skegness United in the quarter-final.

Player/boss Ian Dunn admits it was the one tie his side were looking to avoid.

He said: “We did enough to win, that’s about all. It wasn’t the greatest pitch and you had to take an extra touch.

“Of all the teams left in the competition Skegness are probably the best, we’d have liked to avoid them. But if you want to win it you have to beat the best teams.”

• Moulton Harrox are also in the quarter-finals following a penalty shoot-out win over Barrowby after drawing 1-1, Phil Groves with the goal.

They will visit Market Rasen in the next stage.
