Seb Hayes takes charge of Holbeach United for the first time on Saturday.

The fifth-placed Tigers head to ON Chenecks in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League’s Premier Division.

With a great tradition and history, this club can go places on and off the pitch.

Hayes watched the 2-1 home victory over Rothwell Corinthians last weekend as Martyn Cundy ended his caretaker spell following the resignation of Tom Roberts due to work commitments.

Hayes said: “This is a massive club at Step Five.

“I’m really pleased to be part of it now. With a great tradition and history, this club can go places on and off the pitch.

“This reminds me very much of when I took over at Huntingdon Town three years ago when they were fourth in the league and still involved in all the cup competitions.

“Holbeach are fifth with a couple of quarter-finals to come but you don’t really expect to take over a club in that position.

“There are a few injuries but this is a great squad and I know a lot of these players.”
