Summer signing Brad Barraclough could finally make his league debut for Spalding United on Saturday.
The striker was on the bench for last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at Basford United.
Barraclough is close to full fitness after a long lay-off due to torn tendons at the bottom of his foot during a pre-season friendly.
Tulips manager Dave Frecklington said: “We have to make sure he’s right.
“He did the warm-up last weekend but he felt a little bit tired so we didn’t want to risk bringing him on.
“Hopefully he will be fit after training last night and he can be part of the squad on Saturday.”
Frecklington was hoping to sign another centre-forward this weekend but the deal has been delayed.
He explained: “We are still waiting because his agent is away.
“It’s frustrating because the lad wants to play for us but he needs approval from his agent.
“We won’t get the deal over the line this week but the lad has played at a higher level so the longer this goes on, other clubs could be sniffing around.”
Jenk Acar has been ruled out for a couple of weeks due to ligament damage in his shoulder following a fall at Basford.
Jonny Lockie and Jason Field are back in the squad but Jordan Lemon must serve a one-match suspension.
