Joint-manager Graham Drury admits Holbeach United will need to keep their focus this season.
As one of the pre-season title favourites in the UCL Premier Division, he feels that other sides will be fired up against the Tigers.
Opening-day hosts Peterborough Northern Star had two players sent off and Holbeach ran out 6-1 winners.
Drury said: “Other teams will be up for the battle and we are definitely going to have to deal with that every week.
“Northern Star were fired up last week and I’m sure everybody else will want to kick and fight us.
“So it’s all about staying focused and not get involved. We can’t get drawn into a scrap.
“We picked up a couple of silly bookings but I thought Jamie Stevens was unlucky. He picked himself up and walked away so others need to follow that example.”
Holbeach’s first home league game of the season is against Desborough Town on Saturday – although Drury is unsure what to expect.
He explained: “They’ve had a big change around so we don’t know a lot about them until we do a bit of homework in the next couple of days.
“Hopefully they will come to try to play. We will make sure we are fully focused.
“If we get the right players on at the right times with our substitutions then hopefully we get a good performance and three more points.”
Livo Dube and Courtney Meade are missing due to work commitments but Tommy Treacher and Danny Steadman return to the squad.
