Spalding United boss Pat Rayment is ready to face ‘a different challenge’ in the new season.

After narrowly missing out on a play-off place last term, the Tulips are planning another push for promotion in the Evo-Stik League First Division South.

Rayment said: “I’m having to change my approach with players and I’m excited by it. I’m going to take that on board with my man-management style. It’s a different challenge.

“I know, contrary to what some people might think, there are so many ordinary players who earn a very good living but don’t dedicate themselves properly.”

Meanwhile, the Tulips will travel to Boston Town on July 28 for a pre-season friendly.

Midfielder Lewis Webb has left Spalding to agree a deal at Peterborough Sports in Division One of the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League.
