Holbeach United joint-boss Graham Drury has tipped Courtney Meade to take the headlines away from fellow strike ace Lee Dube.

Dube has netted hat-tricks in each of his two starts for the Tigers since joining from last season’s UCL Division One champions Oadby Town.

He also scored twice when coming on as a substitute at Peterborough Northern Star on the opening day.

But Drury believes Meade could outscore his team-mate this season.

Meade was prolific for
Oadby last season but is yet to get off the mark for Holbeach, despite some impressive
performances.

The pair work together and were unavailable for last
Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Long Buckby but come back into the squad for the FA Cup preliminary round clash with Boston Town.

Drury has warned hotshot Dube that he may find himself on the bench.

He said: “Lee is getting all the headlines at the moment but he has a lot to learn.

“He knows that and he is level-headed. He will get there, and I can see him playing in the Conference in future.

“But Courtney is probably more advanced than Lee.

“Courtney is doing every-
thing but score at the moment.

“Everything he hits is
being saved by the keeper or going just over the bar.

“When you are looking for your first goal you sometimes try too hard but once he gets his first they will start flying in and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him taking the headlines away from Lee.

“We are getting goals from all areas at the moment but it is just as important to be
keeping clean sheets and I am very pleased with how the
season has gone so far.

“Danny Steadman ran the show against Long Buckby and players like Lee Beeson, Ash Fuller and Jake Duffy have been getting among the goals so there is a lot to be happy about.”

Saturday’s winners will pick up £1,925 prize money and earn a trip to King’s Lynn Town in the first qualifying round on Saturday, September
13.
