TYDD ST MARY 3 NELSON 2: THE Saints are on the march as their fine run in Boston and District Division Two continued with another deserved success.

Tydd made a super start to the game and were 1-0 up after just 12 minutes when Tim Brookin angled a pin point ball into the box for Stephen Cousins to cutely flick past the goalkeeper.

It was two moments later when Dan Chapman’s good run and shot down the left was parried into the path of Brookin, who fired home.

Tydd, with the wind at their backs, went further ahead when man-of-the-match Matty Eaton picked the ball up 25 yards out and unleashed a stunning shot that flew into the roof of the net.

Nelson did pull a goal back three minutes before the break – and they came out fighting in the second half.

However, the Saints’ defence remained strong until the 83rd minute, when defender Tim Lowe handled a goal bound Nelson shot and was duly sent off.

Nelson then scored from the resulting penalty, but the ten men held on to secure a big three points.

MURROW BELL 2

HOLE IN THE WALL 5

WALL ran out comfortable winners in this wind-affected game.

They opened the scoring when Ashley Wells’ delightful through ball was latched onto by Danny Roberts, who rounded the keeper and slotted into an empty net.

It was soon 2-0 to Wall when Roberts doubled his money with a tap-in following a spillage from the keeper.

However, Murrow Bell pegged their visitors back with two goals before the break to level matters at 2-2.

It was something of a false dawn though, Wall dominated the second half. They went back ahead when Michael Kearns was first to react to a rebound and smashed home.

The lead was then extended when David Amaral smashed home into the stanchion from a corner by the outstanding Roberts corner.

Wells completed the scoring with a looped free kick, before Scott Burrell saw a penalty come back off the post.
