History could be created by Pinchbeck United this weekend.

They face Thurlby United in the Lincolnshire FA Sunday Cup final at Sincil Bank, home of Lincoln City (11am kick-off).

Pinchbeck are aiming to become the first Spalding Sunday League side to win the county cup.

With a 100 per cent record so far this season, they have already collected the Knockout Cup and John Chappell Shield to reach the halfway stage of their bid for a quadruple.

Manager Tom Roberts said: “We are very much looking forward to Sunday’s final.

“Not only is there a real sense of achievement for the club, we could be also making history for the league itself.

“They have only had two finalists previously but it’s nice for us to have that level of expectation.

“We need to thrive on the pressure and I will be reminding our players about a chance of making history before the game.

“We have done a bit of homework on Thurlby.

“We know they have two or three players from the Peterborough League plus Jezz Goldson-Williams of Deeping Rangers.

“But we are confident of bringing back the trophy.

“Massive thanks go out to our sponsors Bounce Sports Bar and Wykeham Staff Services for their support.”

A few seats remain for the bus leaving Spalding coach station at 8.30am on Sunday.
