Walking football

Walking Football, a slow-paced version of the beautiful game, is fast growing in Lincolnshire.

You can get involved through the Linx Walking Football programme which offers players the opportunity to play both recreationally and competitively.

Walking Football has the power to impact positively on players’ lives through community, bringing together players who love the beautiful game in an environment to enjoy football and socialise.

I’ve spoken to many players who have been thrilled with the health benefits of playing walking football regularly, one of the players at Lincolnshire FA’s festival was 79 years old.

I spoke to one Walking Football player who hadn’t kicked a ball in 40 years, now he’s back playing and loving
it!

Small-sided football is the fasted growing area of adult football; Lincolnshire FA recognise the impact of SSF and how playing can encourage players to sustain playing the beautiful game.

Small-sided football has become integral to football participation; you can get involved through our SSF programme Linx5s.

Linx5s offers a flexible format for players to play the game they love, combining the competitive edge of small-
sided football with the social motivations of playing with your mates.
