Spalding Academy under-16 girls team won the South Lincolnshire School Sports Association seven-a-side district tournament.

Playing at home, the team – captained by Paige Godfrey and Ellis Taylor-Williams – went on to win the final against Spalding High School 2-1 with a fantastic goal in the last 15 seconds from Chloe Rimmer.

The girls got through the group stages, beating Bourne Academy A and B team and just losing to Spalding High 1-0.

Miss Pearce, head of girls PE, said: “We had players from years 11, 10 and 9 together in this tournament.

“I am extremely proud of all of the girls. This is the first time we have won this tournament and the girls and I are ecstatic.”
