ALCONBURY 0 MOULTON HARROX 3: UNBEATEN Moulton Harrox moved into the top four of the Peterborough and District Premier Division in imperious style on Saturday.
A brace from Steve Mastin and an 80th minute header from veteran Lee Hudson was enough to see off stubborn resistance from Alconbury.
It’s now four wins and a draw from Harrox’s five league games so far – and they have played three games less than two of the teams above them.
A poor first half – not helped by an awful pitch – saw both teams spurn chances, with a glaring miss from Alconbury’s George Pearson being the pick of the bunch.
The half-time whistle could not come quick enough for Moulton, but it was a different story after the break.
Mastin’s fine left foot effort from Jamie Cartlidge’s assist opened their account on 52 minutes – and the man of the match doubled his tally six minutes later when Ben Allen’s pass set him up for a simple tap in.
Alconbury visibily tired later in the game which was ended as a contest when Ashley Coddington headed across goal for Hudson to score from close in.
