Pinchbeck United’s players have been been accused of taking their eyes off the ball in Saturday’s 3-2 Peterborough Premier Division loss at Riverside.

United, who have a big PFA Senior Cup semi final at Sawtry to look forward to this Saturday (1.30pm), were far from their best. 2-0 down at half time, Ollie Gedney got Pinchbeck back in the game before Riverside struck again.

Jonny Butler tapped in from Jack Wycherley’s cross late on, but there was no leveller.

United assistant boss Gary Coomes said: “If we had played anywhere near our level we would have won.

“Too many guys took the day off this week.”

Pinchbeck: Dawson, Eyett, Harrison, Butler, Wright, Wycherley, Gedney, Moore, Haslam, Cooper (Chilvers 79) Dickinson.

• Spalding Town cruised into the PFA Junior Cup final with a crushing 5-0 win over Glinton United on Saturday.

After a goalless first period at the Castle, Tomasz Rabiega powered Town ahead with a header from Gav Bailey’s throw. An own goal then made it 2-0, before Mark Astley headed home the third.

A stunning Rabiega strike from inside his own half then made it 4-0, before the Polish ace completed his hat-trick and the scoring.
