LOCAL FOOTBALL: Harrox hammer club record haul

Moulton Harrox set a new club scoring record on Saturday as both of their teams won by dominant 9-0 scorelines.

Moulton’s first team travelled to Boston Premier League side Old Doningtonians in the Lincs Junior Cup, as they cruised through.

Andy Law and Martin Gordon both fired hat-tricks, while goals from Billy King, Ian Bradbury and Tom Panton completed the scoring. That takes free-scoring Harrox’s tally for the season to a massive 73 so far.
Meanwhile, Moulton Reserves moved into second place in Division One with a 9-0 success of their own at home to Castor and Ailsworth.

Joe Harrison led the way with an impressive five-goal haul, while Phil Groves, Ash Wilson, Aris Placis and Stuart Easy also got in on the act.

• Long Sutton Athletic made impressive progress in the Lincs Junior Cup with a 4-1 home triumph over at strong Fulbeck United side on Saturday.

The Magpies were ahead within two minutes when skipper Matty Radeloff smashed into the top corner from fully 25 yards. Fulbeck started the second half better though and equalised on the hour.
However, Sutton restored their lead on 80 minutes when Martin Ward smashed a stunner home from 30 yards. Five minutes later he doubled his money, before new signing Kevin Goude added gloss to the scoreline with a late fourth.

• Pinchbeck United Reserves were left to rue a last-gasp goal as they went down 2-1 at Guyhirn in Peterborough League Division Two.
Pinchbeck took the lead on the hour when Tom Pickering fed Jamie Cartlidge, who slotted home. Winger Charlie Clucas levelled ten minutes later though, before sub Andy Parkin netted at the death.
