OLD DONS RES 2 SPALDING HARRIERS RES 1: GILES Favell’s double helped Dons storm 11 points clear at the top of Boston and District League Division Three on Saturday.
Dons started brightly but Andy Barnett conceded the first goal. Dons levelled when a free kick was parried to the feet of Favell, who knocked home the rebound.
After the break, that man Favell ran through and angled the ball past the helpless keeper. Spalding pushed forward in a bid to level, but the Dons held on for a ninth league win of the season.

HOLE IN THE WALL 3
SUTTON ST JAMES 1
WALL finished the calendar year on a high as they picked up a deserved three points.
They opened the scoring when Sy Howards powerful shot was only parried by the keeper, allowing Michael Kearns to slide the ball home.
However, St James equalised direct from a free kick just before the break.
Hole started the second half stronger and went back ahead through David Amaral’s superb 25-yard curler.
The lead was then extended when Howard converted his own rebound, having see his initial shot well saved by the keeper.
Outstanding for Wall was Ashley Wells.
