Holbeach United Reserves’ hopes of lifting the PFA Challenge Cup were dashed by a 4-2 extra-time loss against Division One rivals AFC Stangroud on Saturday.
Having trailed 2-0 at the break, goals from Tom Brooks and club legend Dean Elston forced an additional 30 minutes at Carter’s Park.
However, the visitors notched twice more to seal their progress against the ten-man Tigers, who had Macauley Grimwood sent off.
In Peterborough League Division One, Moulton Harrox Reserves enjoyed a big 7-2 win over Farcet United.
Club legend Nigel Steadman led the charge with a four-goal haul, with Daniel Goddard (2) and Jamie Francis completing the rout.
Also in Division One, Long Sutton Athletic were on the receiving end of a 6-2 beating at Netherton United Reserves.
Tim Lowe and Joseph Sutton notched for the Magpies, who had Jonathan Hubbard sent off.
In Division Two, Long Sutton Athletic Reserves slipped to a 1-0 home loss against ICA Sports A, but Crowland Town Reserves did manage a 4-2 triumph over Oundle Town at Snowden Field.
Down in Division Four, goals from Patrick Jones, Kurt Jones and Liam Burton helped Sutton Bridge Reserves secure a 3-3 home draw against Warboys Town Reserves.
Elsewhere, Tydd St Mary Reserves roared to a 6-2 away success at Parkside Reserves in Division Five. Phil Franklin (2), Andrew Bennett, Tom Chenery, Jack Fowler and Hamish Munro all bagged.
