Skipper Liam Harrison netted twice in a man-of-the-match display to fire Pinchbeck United to a 3-0 Lincs Junior Cup win over past winners Brumby on Saturday.
After missing two early chances at Knight Street, Jonny Butler finally fired the hosts ahead on 15 minutes.
Harrison then scored the goal of the game when he powered home a header from a pin-point Tom Elderkin corner to double the lead.
Pinchbeck then spurned a host of chances to seal their success before half time.
Brumby were better after the break, but United missed more chances when Butler, Ash Coddington and Aidan Moore all fired at the keeper when well-placed.
Harrison showed his team-mates how it should be done when he finished the game off as a contest, side-footing home from a Robbie Relf corner
United joint boss Gary Coomes said: “Any manager loves to keep a clean sheet and beat former holders of the cup.
“We were good defensively, but still have a lot to work on going forward. Satisfying display but still a long way off spectacular.”
