Spalding United boss Pat Rayment has concluded his transfer business for next season with the capture of highly-experienced former Gainsborough Trinity skipper Michael Leary.
Leary (31) began his career at Luton Town and also played 50 games for Barnet before moving on to Grimsby Town and then Gainsborough.
Rayment insists no further signings will be made as he has used up his budget, but he could not be happier with his squad.
He said: “I don’t think anyone could argue this is the best squad Spalding have ever assembled.
“Michael is a very experienced player and, as well as his ability, he is a leader so he is a great addition for us.”
