Young Dons under-10s hope to be the most electrifying team in their division this year after securing a new sponsor for the coming season.

Dave Cook Electrical, a division of Dave Cook Engineering Ltd, are sponsoring the team – and representatives of the firm were present at the unveiling of the new kit last week.

Boss Tim Harris said: “Myself, the coaches and the boys would like to say a huge thank you to the company for it’s generosity and support.”

During the summer break Dons entered a few tournaments, which were dotted around Lincolnshire, and managed to reach the final on a couple of occasions.

The team finished mid-table last year in the Mid-Lincs League and are hoping to finish higher this season.

The team also held a fundraising fishing match recently, which was well supported and raised much-needed funds for the club. Dons thank Ken and Linda at Lakeside Fisheries for hosting the event.

• Young Dons train on a Thursday evening 6-7.30pm at Donington Primary School.

New players are always welcome. Check the club website www.youngdons.co.uk for more information.
