HOLBEACH United Yellow under-15s successfully defended their Hungate tournament title after a dramatic penalty shoot-out win.

In the group stages the young Tigers were up against strong teams from West Winch, Wisbech St Mary, Tilney, Crowland and hosts Hungate.

Yellow drew their first game, but built up a real head of steam and won all of their remaining group stage games to go through top of the table.

They kept their cool in the semi-final with a 1-0 win, booking a final with group stage foes Hungate.

The game was goalless after extra time and went to a dreaded penalty shoot-out.

But the Holbeach lads kept their cool to prevail 5-4 and lift the trophy.

It was the the third year running that John Coote’s side have been in the final and they now boast two titles and a runners-up medal each.
