JUNIOR FOOTBALL: Cambridge title for young Guns

editorial image

A host of Spalding-based players shone as Arsenal Soccer Schools Yellow under-10s won a tournament at the Cambridge United youth festival.

Tyler McKendrick, Luke Hood, Adam Coates, Jake Lilley and Kieran Greetham were all part of the squad that ended up beating Bluntisham Blasters 2-1 in the final.

The game was played during half-time at a Cambridge first team match – and it was a great experience for the children to play on the pitch.

Yellow – bossed by Mark Angel, who is head coach for the Gunners Lincolnshire – are now aiming to win the championship in the Peterborough Junior Alliance League again this season.

• Arsenal currently have more than 60 children training with them from under-7s to under-11s at Spalding High School.

Any parent wanting their children to join the Arsenal development training programme can contact the team via email at arsenal.soccer.schools.lincs@gmail.com or call 07919206347.
